Waterfalls

It’s another Tuesday at work. I’m checking my work email. My co-worker Mel, sets up her dog Jazz in his crate with breakfast. Jasper (Jazz) is a curious ween dog that would do anything for a treat and is very calm with the radio playing, during the day. I can hear from my cubicle, Mel walking out. Five seconds after Jazz grumbles disapproval. I immediately hit my apple playlist (iPhone). It’s enough to tame the beast.

I’m back in the swing of things here after a few weeks in Europe. It was a needed respite but I feel a little more stress now, then I did before I left. I know, it’s weird. We came back from the trip two days earlier than originally planned. Garry is also having major stress over the crazy change in his motor skills and processing stuff. It definitely hit a wall for him on the trip. Parkinson’s a bitch, don’t let anyone tell you different.

He seems alright at the moment. There are continual things around the house, that need attention and he is diving into things, while also having doctor’s appointments. I know he is glad to be back in his world at home. It’s helping him ground and be present. Also, there have been a few curveballs, that became new projects. The toilet needed fixing, clearing out items under a garage staircase (reorganizing stuff), fixing the chainsaw chain, and returning Amazon items (ongoing).

The message from my Apple Watch is, chill the heck out. I continue to walk for steps and mental health. It’s a habit I picked in the beginning of the Covid Crisis. I do a minimum of 50 minutes a day, but on my off days, I average of 2-3 miles. Anyway, it looks like my walk heart rate has increased in the last 13 days (so says apple tech). I think very briefly about how many baseball caps can fit in one casket, then I hit a YouTube video of a Waterfall Gentle stream. I put the headphones on to get the full effect. The sound of the water is relaxing. I highly recommend.

I’m going to get my heart rate going at the San Jose Softball tournament this weekend. We’ve got games Saturday and Sunday. I’ll commute back and forth instead of staying at a local hotel. I figure it’s only an hour away. It will be nice after a day of softball to sleep in my own bed. Yes, it’s not super social to take off after the games but I can catch up with softballers between games. There is always, wait around time baked into these tournaments.

“I forgot the radio, “ Mel said upon her return. “It was fine, ” I said, “Have you tried waterfalls? “
